QI represents and promotes movement of the body’s FUNCTIONAL ENERGY . Qi is in charge of transforming and moving, holding and raising, protecting and warming the body. Qi gives Blood movement. Qi is Yang in nature.
When there is not enough, or a DEFICIENCY OF QI, the body may react with symptoms of under performance in the Meridian that is deficient(see the Meridian chart, under FUNCTIONS)
In order to balance a Qi Deficiency, it is advisable to EAT foods that promote and tonify Qi in the under-functioning Meridian.
