YIN represents the body’s STRUCTURE/FORM. Yin is calming, lubricating and cooling in nature.
When there is too much, or an EXCESS of YIN, the body may react with symptoms of:
TOO MUCH Cold-Coldness and low body temperature
TOO MUCH Contraction-Constricting and “squeezing” pains”
TOO MUCH Lubrication/Moisture-An overproduction and discharge of body oils,
phlegm or mucus
TOO MUCH Relaxation- Loss of vigor/motivation
TOO MUCH Sleepiness-Chronic fatigue
TOO MUCH Body structure/Form-Feelings of the body being “weighed” down,
congestion or clotting of body fluids
TOO MUCH Blood-Excessive bleeding and/or thick and coagulated blood
Note: It is common for people with Yin Excess to also have symptoms of Yang
In order to balance a Yin Excess, it is advisable to AVOID foods that promote Yin.
